Affordable Care Act: What's Covered Under Preventive Care
Overview:
The webinar will lay out in specific detail the preventive health care covered by the Affordable Care Act. For adults, the vaccination schedule will be explained, including the annual flu shot, tetanus shot, shingles vaccine and pneumonia shot. Preventive care for both adult men and women will be discussed. Blood pressure screening, cholesterol screening, HIV testing, colon cancer screening, obesity screening, tobacco and alcohol screening will be presented. For men, prostate exams and a test for abdominal aortic aneurysm are included. Women's screening topics are mammograms, osteoporosis screening, and cervical cancer screening. Screenings recommended for women of childbearing age will be included. Children's preventive care recommendations include immunizations, developmental checkups, and well child visits. The new oral care preventive care will also be presented.
